During this session, CELT and UK's Smart Campus team up to explore tech-enhanced activities for facilitating collaborative learning moments that students can participate in using their iPads. The session will examine strategies for collaborative learning for enhanced student engagement, introduce apps that utilize these strategies, and provide examples for your classes.

In this participatory in-person workshop, we’ll explore how instructors might enhance student engagement and learning through role play. Join us as we explore how you might select, adapt, and implement various types of role play to help bring your course content to life.

Are you curious about virtual reality but unsure how to get started? Join us for an in-person workshop where we will discuss best practices for using VR in assignments. We will dedicate time to brainstorming ideas for your classroom and explore VR applications. Metaquest headsets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own VR device if you have one.

Join us for a discussion with experienced teaching assistants on their classroom teaching experiences and receive advice on how to make the most out of your TAship. Topics include classroom management strategies, student engagement and rapport, building community, grading, working with your TA supervisor, and navigating your role as teacher and student.

Student Attendance and Participation

Join us to discuss instructional strategies for responding to shifting trends in student attendance and engagement. Exploring the Potential of Play in Teaching and Learning

Who says learning can’t be fun? On Tuesday, February 27th, the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) hosted a workshop titled “Exploring the Potential of Play in Teaching and Learning.” Led by CELT staff, Dr. Shawna Felkins and Kate Collins, the session introduced participants to “ludic pedagogy,” presenting play as a vital tool to enhance student engagement and transform learning.
