Third SoTL Faculty Learning Community Begins in College of Health Sciences

The SoTL FLC began in Fall 2022 and now represents 27 CHS faculty across eight academic programs. It is designed to provide a framework and community for faculty to engage and grow in the scholarship of teaching and learning. This opportunity includes a common reading experience and SoTL-focused workshops followed by structured support for participants’ development, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of SoTL projects.

CELT and Faculty Learning Community Present at CCTS Conference

On April 9, members of CELT and the faculty learning community co-hosted by CELT and the College of Health Sciences presented at the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences spring conference. Among the posters was one featuring the work and progress of the faculty learning community, which focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning.

An Introduction to SOTL

This virtual session will introduce the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) to participants, distinguishing it from other types of scholarly research. Participants will explore best practices and processes for getting started with SoTL to enable them to begin conceptualizing their own projects.

CELT Team Presents Findings on Teaching Traumatic Histories at H-Net Conference

As part of CELT’s work to support effective teaching at UK and beyond, a team of CELT staff presented at H-Net’s 2023 Teaching Conference on Tuesday, August 22. The conference theme “Critical Conversations: Teaching and Creating Community in Difficult Times,” prioritized transdisciplinary and multi-level conversations around current challenges facing teaching and learning.
