We will hold a virtual workshop on "Communicating Your Teaching Philosophy" for all who are interested in participating. The workshop will provide more information on GradTeachLive!, including tips and guidelines for crafting and giving your presentation.

The Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) in partnership with The Graduate School’s Graduate Student Professional Enhancement Office invite all current and former Graduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) to showcase their teaching philosophy and instructional skills to the university community by taking part in the UK GradTeachLive! competition. Modeled after the Three-Minute Thesis competition (3MT), GradTeachLive! recognizes the importance of teaching at UK by celebrating and showcasing the central role TAs have in the university’s instructional mission. This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students to practice talking about their teaching for job interviews and rehearse for teaching demonstrations. The central challenge is to do so in a way that engages and holds the attention of the audience, just as we do our students.

The final competition will be in-person. Participants will have 3 minutes and 1 slide to engage the audience in their pedagogical grounding/teaching philosophy and present a concrete example of what that philosophy looks like in the in-person, virtual, or hybrid classroom or lab.
