Digital Accessibility Open Lab (Online)

Do you need some help making your course documents and Canvas course accessible? This 2-hour online open lab provides one-on-one support for instructors who are in the process of making their course materials accessible. Participants are free to pop in and out of these open hours. For best results come with your questions and your laptop within reach.

Communicating with Students about Generative AI

Supporting student learning in the age of generative AI involves establishing clear expectations and parameters around when and if GAI can be used. This short information session will share resources and strategies for communication with students about what constitutes appropriate use of GAI within the context of each course. Whether you want students to use GAI in your classes or avoid it for most assignments, this session will provide anchor points for informed conversations between students and instructors.

Start-to-Finish Assignment Design Essentials

This information session will focus on the essentials of assignment design using the TRUST framework. Faculty will be provided with an overview of how the framework can be used to design new assignments or enhance existing ones. There will be time for Q&A and resources will be provided!

New Faculty Orientation

Syllabus Preparation Workshop

Join us for a collaborative opportunity to build, review, or polish up your syllabi. This Zoom session will provide some resources for getting your syllabus ready for the Fall 2025 semester.

Pedagogy of Play Summer Camp

Playful learning in higher education can deepen engagement, foster creativity, and support well-being—all without sacrificing academic rigor. When students interact with curricula through play, they become more motivated, curious, and willing to take intellectual risks. During this three-day "summer camp" participants will apply play-based approaches to their teaching, and design a playful assessment for their course(s).

CELT Symposium on AI and Teaching

The CELT Symposium on AI and Education is the culminating event for the 2024-25 cohort of the Teaching Innovation Institute where faculty participants will present actionable findings from their year of research and experimentation with generative artificial intelligence (AI). Registration is free and anyone connected to the instructional mission of the university is welcome to attend.

Bring an assignment you’re working on, or start fresh, and leave with actionable ideas you can implement right away.

Models of Student Leadership Development at UK

In partnership with CELT and the Martin School for Public Policy and Administration, the Leadership Advisory Council of the Lewis Honors College Provost IMPACT Award “Leadership Development Collaborative:  A Transdisciplinary Approach to Leadership Development” is hosting an interactive panel of experts focusing on four models for student leadership development at UK. Participants will learn about different student leadership development approaches as well as receive takeaways on how to develop student leaders and will be inspired for student leadership development.
